A Letter From Host Jason Lyons!
A season Review so far...
The 2025 Toronto Blue Jays season has been a rollercoaster of emotions for fans who have followed this team through decades of ups and downs. As someone who’s covered the Jays since the days of the SkyDome’s inaugural season, I can say this year’s squad has shown a resilience that harkens back to those championship teams of the early ‘90s. With a roster blending seasoned veterans like Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Bo Bichette with emerging stars such as Addison Barger and Dalton Varsho, the Jays have managed to stay competitive in a brutally tough AL East. Sure, there have been frustrating stretches — particularly that mid-May skid where the bullpen seemed to collapse nightly — but their ability to bounce back with gritty wins over division rivals has kept hope alive.
What’s stood out most this season is the team’s character. There’s a certain swagger returning to the clubhouse, the kind we haven’t consistently seen since that magical 2015 run. Manager John Schneider deserves credit for steadying the ship when injuries hit key pieces like Kevin Gausman and Alejandro Kirk. And the energy at the Rogers Centre? It’s electric — you can feel the city daring to believe again. As a fan who’s witnessed the heartbreaks and heroics of this franchise, I can honestly say this team feels like it’s on the cusp of something special. Of course, there’s a long summer ahead, but if the first half of 2025 is any indication, Blue Jays fans have every reason to stay tuned.
